In my many years of being in and around colleges, universities and National Labs, the only ones that demanded that you call them Doctor were the ones who were insecure of their own worth; Academics with no real-world success.
Heck, even most of the Medical Doctors I have known didn’t demand the title.
Big difference. Dr. Kissinger, Dr. King didn’t profess that they were medical doctors. Dr. Biden’s allies did.
My kid brother has 2 PHD’s and his wife has 1. Never heard them referred to as doctor.
