On Thursday, I had a long phone conversation with a politician in Mexico. Forgive me for using "a source familiar with the situation" rather than giving you his name. Trust me that this guy knows the situation, and I cannot give you his name.
We discussed the potential change from President Trump to Biden regarding U.S.-Mexico policies. Let me summarize the conversation by saying my friend is sure that a President Biden is going to get an earful from President Andrés López-Obrador about the border. In other words, Mexico is very happy that they've shut down their southern border and President Trump has enforced the northern border. It appears that Mexicans don't like caravans any more than we do.
In recent days, we've read about more "caravans" heading north. We've heard that these people are encouraged by Biden's words or the return of the Obama policies.
At the same time, we learned that Central American authorities stopped the caravan because they've been warned by Mexico to stay away. My friend assured me that President López-Obrador has made it very clear that Mexico is not going to be the highway to the north anymore.
What will happen under a Biden presidency and the border? Not much. He will do a lot of talking, but nothing will change because President Trump's policies worked and COVID has shut down border crossings all over the world.

This speaks to the dirty little secret regarding how US politics works. Just as Trump was not able to do all that much in many ways - even with both houses - Biden will be in the same pickle.
However, this point is of course moot. If biden is sworn in, we’ll be in a state of warm, if not hot, civil war because the election was stolen in broad daylight.
My friend assured me that President López-Obrador has made it very clear that Mexico is not going to be the highway to the north anymore …LOL, if that were true, then Trump would not have had to lean on López-Obrador to make the flow of those infamous caravans stop (last time they were on the way was as recently as 2018); López-Obrador would have done it on his own impetus.
Biden would not be in the same pickle, being ideologically on the side of the Uniparty.
How could the ex-Vice-President do that?
The author is dreaming. Biden will absolutely reverse Trump’s border policies. The AOC crowd will demand it. Construction on the wall will stop. Executive orders will dilute enforcement, etc.
All that will have an effect, regardless of what Mexico does. There will be many more new illegals.

China Joe would just have to order that openings be made in the wall every mile or so. He could do that cheaply by executive order. The only difficulty would be in what to call those openings.
Maybe they could be called “International Peace Gates”, or something innocent like that.
The foreknowledge that an impenetrable wall separates them from their only real intended destination discourages the potential caravan members from forming in the first place. Although many people in Central America face severe violence and desperately need help and protection, few of these persons ever joined the caravans.
Remember how a certain presidential candidate, Donald John Trump, promised that Mexico would pay for the wall? Well, Mexico built a rudimentary semi-effective border-security system and paid for it; that wall faces Guatemala. That accomplishment required time and money, but it works far better now than it ever did in the past. Of course, our media don’t report on such things; otherwise, they might credit the President with accomplishing a goal that they lampooned for years.

You make an interesting point. But I suspect big business would be happy to see open borders again. Illegals in the work force suppress wages. Even Bernie Sanders recognized that.
I don’t know about the deep state. An open borders policy means more Democrat voters, and more people on the government dole. Those are AOC goals. Are they also deep state goals? Maybe...

And what do you think the goals of “big business” (remember communist goal #37, “Infiltrate and gain control of big business”) and the deep state are? They do not diverge from the stated goals of the so-called Squad or Bernie Sanders.
Actually, he’s the same guy but no longer afraid to reveal his true intentions. Only in the sense that his health has declined has he been relegated to sock-puppet status.
