How are they Autonomous? Is food and water being self supplied? Waste management? Electricity?
Another homeless camp
at the park is a field house that has cooking facilities, running water and possibly electric. There’s also a bathroom building. The night lights on the sports field were always on over the summer. They’d occupied it a few weeks after chop was cleared out. Could be they’re occupying it again. But it’s between two gang areas so it’s not going to be any safer than last time, with both gangs likely resenting the presence and attention. I can’t imagine the business owners or renters are happy, either. I think they sued the city for damages over the last ‘occupation.’ Not sure what happened with that.
If I lived in Seattle, I’d be grabbing those pallets, tho. That’s good wood to make yard decorations for the holidays. Also good wood to make a picket fence. Or chicken coop, or dog house, or playhouse. Around here they’re worth $3-6/apiece depending on size/wood.
