Reading Glenn Reynolds’ heartening article in the NY Post —“It’s time for the ‘Deplorables’ to become the Unconquerables”—inspired me to say something I’ve been thinking for a while.
It’s time for the “Deplorables” fully to take over the Republican Party.
Some have suggested starting a new party—and I can understand that, given the frustrations—but why go to the trouble when you have the numbers to have all the power?
An existing party apparatus is sitting there and is there for the taking. Let’s do it.
Just to be clear—who do I mean by the “deplorables”?
They are the decent, hard-working Americans of all classes that revere our democratic republic and our founding documents and deplore (in the real sense of the word) the Deep State and the dominance of Washington DC over our lives.
They reject bureaucracy, the uni-party of insiders, and the dangerous Orwellian pervasiveness of Big Tech and its social media tentacles replete with censorship and thought control.
They also seek to preserve liberty and the capitalist system of open markets, while opposing, with all their strength, the incursions of socialism and communism into our country through the influence of the Communist Party of China and others on and in our media, religious institutions, entertainment and educational system.
Above all, they adamantly support our Bill of Rights with freedom of speech and worship and the right to bear arms impregnable.
As of now, these “deplorables” are at least seventy-four million strong—and are, in essence, more unified than any other group, even though sometimes they do not realize it.

Donald Trump tried a hostile takeover of the GOP.
The Bush League Republicans all got re-elected and Trump was cheated out with their assistance.
Limbaugh discussed something like this several days ago. He threw cold water on those calling for a MAGA Party. His opinion is, the Republican Party has become the MAGA Party and the 75+ million voters need to assert themselves in more than just the Presidential Election.
He was adamant that in the very short term we need to hold the Senate. At all costs.
His opinion is, we need to then target elected Never-Trumpers first. We need to ignore the mass advertising campaign the RNC will unleash to preserve those Never-Trumper incumbents and vote those Never-Trumpers out.
He acknowledges this will involve some risk in backing some unknown candidate challengers but, voting for them regardless is important.
It is vital as shots across the bow of the Establishment. To put them on notice that all the money they can muster for the Never-Trumper incumbent is a total waste of their dollars. That the 75+ million Trump voters are the Republican Party.
Personally, I am a Conservative - not a Republican. I want a Conservative Party, it doesn’t matter what the name is. The GOP are merely Democrats in drag.
My ability to vote for the lesser of two evils has ended. We need to save the Republic now, by any means necessary, as once we slide down this slope of socialism we will never recover.
However, we would still be supporting the election of the current set of officeholders.
In the past fire-breathing conservatives have run for office. In some cases we were able to get them past the officeholders in the primaries so they could vie for the office. In some cases they won even without name recognition.
However a number of them became turncoats as they were assimilated to the current set of officeholders.
Please tell me how we takeover the Republican Party without kicking most of the current officeholders out of the party?
The only way I see of getting past the current set of officeholders is to start a brand new party.
Someone please prove me wrong.
it didn’t look very hostile to me; it looked like they pretty well laid down for him. the republican party is his, and can remain his. It’s up to him.
. . . and I’m ready to bet my house that you can’t go a week without posting the phrase “bush league republicans”.
Because the Bush family deserves a noose and scaffold right next to the Clinton’s and Obama’s???
I’ll throw the Cheney family in for good measure.
They have been fighting him every inch of the way.
When they had both the House and the Senate, they stonewalled him on everything but the tax cuts.
They threatened him about doing anything about the Mueller witch hunt.
Now they have colluded with Democrats to cheat him out.
If we’re the deplorables then the Left are the despicables.
When real conservatives have gotten past the party gate keepers and been nominated for Senate seats, the GOP colluded with the Democrats to defeat them and elect Democrats.
That happened in AL, IN, MO, DE, NV, VA.

Time for a new party....or Trump becomes the head of the GOP and puts his people in and changes it name....
New Trump voters will not vote GOP with out Trump....
Blacks...Latinos...and ex democrats
not according to him. with a few very notable exceptions, he has generally voiced satisfaction with congressional republicans. he has absolutely campaigned his a$$ off for them. so, sound like you’re wrong there.
but he also told us to vote in the runoff, and I’m sure there’s some bush related, hate filled reason why you disagree with PDJT about that, as well.
sound like you’re the one who’s fighting trump “every inch of the way”, not a bunch of anonymous, random republicans.
Damn skippy!
He endorsed and campaigned for them and they stabbed him in the back.
McCain, Romney, Grahamnesty, etc, etc, etc.
Lol. Moore, O’Donnell, Akin, Mourdock, and Angle all lost in the general because they were irretrievably weird, or said something spectacularly dumb — or because they liked little girls.
in any case, those were cases where the party made a really bad decision, and nominated really stupid candidates. if the RNC had any real control, they would have stopped those five whack jobs IN PARTICULAR. But they didn’t, because they can’t. you’ve got it backwards.
that’s just delusional sh*t right there, man.
those are the only three horror stories you’ve got? you got nothin’
McCain is dead. Romney is politically dead. Graham is back in favor. Deal with it.
That’s the Republican party you are cheerleading for.
Enjoy.
The Republican party can kiss my ass.
The last thing we need is a praty with the word “Republican” in it.
That’s like trying to pretty up a dead groundhog on the side of the road.
