A PRESIDENTIAL election affects EVERYONE in the country. Not just a single location or state. The President is everyone's chief executive.
If one or more states conduct fraudulent elections that CHANGES the outcome of the election....that affects EVERYONE!
Those 4 states illegal counting of votes PAST "election day" directly affects everyone in the country because it "changed" the results of who would be the winner.
SCOTUS, in a unanimous decision, said that went against the Constitution and is therefore unlawful.

Fraud and even some types of crime have a broad impact on society. For example, the crime of shoplifting affects us all in the sense that as shoppers WE pay for it through higher prices and more store security. That is why it is a punishable crime.
Clearly SCOTUS was looking at the case in political terms, not legal ones. If SCOTUS is not there to protect the broader interests of society they are useless as an institution.
