The timing of this doesn’t come off as pandering at all.
Baseball is dying as all of the other pro sports. This Negro League stuff in itself is something I care less about but the rule changes and expansion of teams is what has killed them. It is also nauseating to be a fan and get lectured by a-holes in the booth and on the playing field,ice,court etc.I have not watched a sporting event since the Floyd/Covid era and my life is just the same but I miss the glory days before America was swirling down the toilet bowl.
I don't know. Big business has done a lot of pandering since George Floyd, although the WAS NFL and CLE and ATL MLB names were under attack long before then.
I would have loved to have asked Manfred whether this announcement was made if this project was in progress when Floyd died.
