Notice the silence about who is spreading the virus, where was the virus transmitted and did it occur when no masks were worn? That way we have no idea that the mitigations are working.

Quite possibly the real story is that the masks are meant to trigger a rebellion and of course it would be mostly conservative-libertarian types like ourselves rebelling, so this would identify us to the authorities and give them a pretext for violent suppression, either we die or we are carted off to detention camps.
Then the world will be safe for globalism 2.0 and the climate emergency plans that will make the worry-warts happy, as we roll back time and restore the medieval economy. Our superiors will be the new barons ruling the new serfs, the idiot progressive voters who want to be slaves and are willing to vote their way into slavery.
Clearly the only way out of this is a second version of the American Revolution. People in more conformist nations are probably already doomed to be slaves (or fugitives), the spark of freedom went out a generation or two ago for many in the so called free world.
Just look at the regimented society in China, that is the future our elites want for us. They like the full and unopposed power of the communist model and think they can have just as wealthy a society (although China is relatively wealthy because they are selling, we are only buying if we abandon the MAGA - KAG model).
The one positive thing about this experience is that it proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that George Orwell was one of the smartest people who ever lived. Too bad so few people understood what he was warning them about.
