They are essentially sacrificing everything to hold onto what they have now. What matters is today. They believe they would manage tomorrow later. This is a typical first step of downward spiral. Tomorrow may not be manageable. That would be their wishful thinking.
That is exactly what needs to happen. Atlas must now shrug. Reject as much central authority as you can. Make less money if you can. Pay less taxes if you can. And agitate the hell out of the left from both sides. Make them go batty by complaining bitterly about all their crazy ideas, but also encourage their radical wing to demand more crazy stuff like a $1000 a week government stipend for all. Drive them crazy, encourage division among them, ridicule them at every turn, make it impossible for them to govern. We should probably also mobilize into an anti-war protest movement demanding troops come home. We should demand boycott of racist totalitarian China. We will find more than enough support on the left for that to give Nancy and Chuck agita.
