Joe Biden’s Inaugural Committee does not want supporters to travel to Washington, D.C., in January for the swearing in of the 46th president.
The Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC) consulted “with medical experts advising President-elect Joe Biden” and announced “initial protocols to protect public health during the inauguration,” an event that takes place outside on the Capitol lawn.
Biden’s advisors said in a press release that the “historic ceremony” will include “vigorous health and safety protocols,” and “honors and resembled sacred American traditions while keeping Americans safe and preventing the spread of COVID-19 [Chinese coronavirus].”
Biden’s speech will focus on the coronavirus, “build back better, and bring the country together.”
“The ceremony’s footprint will be extremely limited, and the parade that follows will be reimagined,” the PIC said, without giving further details.
“The PIC is urging the public to refrain from any travel and participate in the inaugural activities from home,” the committee said.
It also recommended supporters should “limit gatherings during the inauguration,” a theme that was implemented during the campaign, which saw Biden play to tiny, well-spaced crowds of backers.
“Our goal is to create an inauguration that keeps people safe, honors the grand traditions of the Presidency, and showcases the Biden-Harris Administration’s renewed American vision for an inclusive, equitable, and unified citizenry,” PIC CEO Tony Allen said.

There is nothing to celebrate, should they actually take the oath of office. I will have to find something black to wear that day if they do.

They no almost no one is going to show up , just as no one attended his campaign speeches, so they need to have an excuse to explain why the inauguration is going to look like some unpopular nerdy freshman’s birthday party.
It’d be a hoot if the folks that do show up wear blue Chinese worker’s uniforms with red stars on their caps.
Since when have confederate flags and Nazi regalia been sold on NY State property? That’s like selling hip waders in Death Valley.

Well... just the thought of a Biden inauguration makes me sick, no matter what precautions are taken.
When Clinton would fly into the military base that my husband was stationed at, no one would go out to meet him. It looked deserted. They stayed indoors and avoided having to even see him, let alone be forced to salute him.
So the next time he flew in, all personnel were told to stay indoors from the time he landed until he left the base. Those that had to be out to put the steps up to AF 1 or were at the gate had to be at their stations, but the rest of the base looked like a ghost town.
They have to say that, even if they opened it up they'd only get staff.
He wont have a crowd but millions of disenfranchised voters should show up and chant through out the process

Might be it occurred to them that committing high treason in front of a large group of witnesses might be a bad idea.
