Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis: Restaurants to remain open amid COVID-19

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Tuesday that restaurants will remain fully open despite COVID-19 ravaging the state during the pandemic.

DeSantis told cooks, servers and other restaurant employees during a press conference at Okeechobee Steakhouse in West Palm Beach that he’s not going to allow the hospitality industry to completely shut down unlike in other states that imposed strict indoor dining restrictions.

Moving to FL from MA was definitely one of the best decisions in my life. I love this guy! Best Gov. In fact, I just wrote to him this morning:

Dear Governor Desantis,

I am writing to thank you for resisting pressure from the media and the left to impose restrictions on our businesses and way of life because of the SARS-COV-2 virus. I am proud to be a Floridian and grateful you are our Governor, and I admire your courage and bold response to a hostile media environment. Thank you for everything you do for us! You need to know the vast majority of Floridians just want to be left alone to make their own decisions and get back to normal life.

My wife and I are both hospital-based RNs here in Florida, and we are completely opposed to government interference in peoples' lives and businesses in the name of this virus. I would refer you to the November 11, 2020 study in the New England Journal of Medicine, "SARS-CoV-2 Transmission among Marine Recruits during Quarantine", which demonstrates that these social controls and masks do not stop the spread of this virus.

I implore you to continue your fight against these pointless and damaging economic and social controls, as well as the futile and dehumanizing mask mandates.

I would also beg of you to stand with President Trump against the blatant theft of this election. We The People know there is no possible way that Joe Biden got more votes than Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, or Barack Obama. This election was a fraud, we will never accept Joe Biden as a legitimate President, and the mountain of real evidence of fraud and cheating in this election is undeniable. We are looking to our Republican leadership to stand with us for the integrity of our elections and the future of our nation.

Poor people can work in grocery stores, Walmart, Target, and Amazon, but it’s too dangerous for others.
