After voting for Trump, Texas electors pressure battleground states to overturn election

After the electoral college's official affirmation of Biden's victory, Texas electors on Monday asked their counterparts in four battleground to switch their votes to President Donald Trump.

The last-minute resolution from Texas' 38 electors passed 34-4, but was too little, too late, according to Texas Tribune's Alex Samuels and Abby Livingston. The states mentioned in the resolution—Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin—had already cast their votes by the time of its passing.

Within the rhetoric of the resolution, the Texas electors "condemned the lack of action by the U.S. Supreme Court" and repeated a line of demonstrably false claims concerning widespread voter fraud. Both the Department of Homeland Security and former U.S. Attorney General William Barr have dismissed such claims.

This new move to overturn the election came on the heels of a controversial U.S. Supreme Court lawsuit attempted by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. On Friday, Paxton's lawsuit was rejected by SCOTUS with a curt, one-page ruling.

"Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another State conducts its elections," The Supreme Court ruling read.

Right after the Texas electors' resolution was passed, the move drew rebuke from lawmakers.

"They failed miserably, but the effects of their brazen disregard for democracy will be felt for a long time," Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa told the Texas Tribune.

In Biden's victory address to Americans on Monday night, the president-elect mentioned the many lawsuit and attempts to overturn his victory.

"It's a position so extreme, we'd never seen it before," Biden said, per CNN's Eric Bradner. "A position that refused to respect the will of the people, refused to respect the rule of law and refused to honor our Constitution."

Well, I was sort of hoping that the Texas delegation would go and beat the carp out of the wusses from Georgia (only because they’re Democrats;)

Love Texas!
If I move there, I will only help conservative Texans, not help destroy it like California infiltrators !

There’s a bill up to call for a referendum vote on secession. From what I can find out,it will come to the floor sometime in March 2021

If the nation splits, Texas would be a great place to seat the new capital.

If Hawaii can submit a revised slate of electoral votes, then so can the battleground states.

At this point, I’m all for breaking up the USA. There is no way to govern this country as a single entity when half population are imbeciles cheerleading autocratic communism. Would love to see Florida and the other south and midwest states join with Texas and separate.

"I would think it would be de-annexation instead of secede."

Exactly. I think Ken Paxton together with our .Gov and Legislature should put forth that no law, ruling or regulation passed or put forth by the illegal biden administration shall be valid in the State of Texas.

Furthermore no federal laws regulations or attempts of enforcement of federal firearms laws shall be valid in the State of Texas. The citizens of Texas through our state legislature and per our Constitution will be the sole authority concerning the bearing of arms in the State of Texas. Under penalty of prosecution and imprisonment, no agent of the federal government shall have any enforcement power of federal gun laws in the State of Texas.

I'm going to be communicating these ideas to our AG, and state Reps.

"... Biden said ... per CNN ... 'A position that refused to respect the will of the people, refused to respect the rule of law and refused to honor our Constitution.' "

There go Democrats again providing further evidence supporting my oft-stated description of the Democrats' MO: "Democrats perpetrate bad stuff, then blame Republicans for what the Democrats themselves perpetrated."

The newest example, courtesy of Sleepy Joe: Democrats perpetrated nationwide election fraud (thus "refusing to respect the will of the people"), Democrat governors and Courts unconstitutionally changed their state election laws (thus "refusing to respect the rule of law"), and Democrats "refused to honor our Constitution," then Sleepy Joe blames Republicans for what the Democrats themselves perpetrated.

So I really want to thank "President-Election" Sleepy Joe Basement-Biden for once again proving my oft-stated description of the Democrats' MO: "Democrats perpetrate bad stuff, then blame Republicans for what the Democrats themselves perpetrated."

So let me see if I have this right. The Trump electors in Texas called on the Biden electors in Georgia and Pennsylvania and Michigan and Nevada and Arizona - Democrats all who were picked in part because of their loyalty and dedication to the party - to do a 180 and change their votes to Trump?

Just out of curiosity were the Texans surprised or disappointed when none of them did?

It aint only food production Metmom. If they took all the states from the Canadian border down to the gulf the blue state would die. And I mean actually die.

Just about all the refining capacity is in TX and LA. All the oil production and a lot of NG is in the mid states. Hell the dumb SOBs would ban all fracking within PA and their states.

Most of the coal production, Cattle, Hogs..you name it. Even softwood for studwood for houses.

Just think, No more environmental laws. We could build up the coal fired power plants and sell the electricity to the blue states at a high coast and make out like bandits because they’d ban gas cars and go electric.

A girl can dream.

Unfortunately, while NH thankfully went red, it’s surrounded by a sea of blue.

However, the Granite Staters love their guns and independence, and the *Live Free or Die* mentality is very strong here.

Sure, in a few of the more liberal areas they are overdoing the COVID compliance thing, but even they love their guns, which is why the dems lost control of the House and Senate. they tried last year to sneak through state income tax and gun restrictions.

Nobody was buying.

“the effects of their brazen disregard for democracy will be felt for a long time,” Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa told the Texas Tribune.”

The Democrats, through their projection, always tell you what they are doing.

Think of it this way. Say we get a new republic formed-a peacfull split. Taxes...a national sales tax only-collected at the cash register like your state sales tax. NO DIRECT INCOME TAX. That alone would pay the billions to take over existing social security for people above a certain age. The rest get into a personal retirement account that invests in a national bond. That bond will go ballistic because that nation would carry NO DEBT since it will not tax corporate income.

Currency backed by a commodity..gold, silver, rocks whatever. A stable currency like the Swiss-that republic would become a haven for people to invest.

I could make that country the richest nation on earth in about 4 years.

An absolute free market economy. The Blue states needs electricity? Fine, they pay for it. They need grain/food stuffs? Fine they pay for it—IN GOLD. Why? Because their money wont be worth spit.
