There is no pathway to the House, and there never has been.
The last two times that could have happened, 1948 and 1968, a third candidate got 39 and 46 electoral votes, respectively, but in each case the winner had >300. Had the Truman-Dewey election, or the Nixon-Humphrey election, been closer in the Electoral College, the House would have chosen the President.
