WHY DO WE NEED MACHINES TO VOTE?!!!!
And: WHY IS NO ONE ASKING THAT QUESTION?!!!!
We are counting by 1’s not traveling to the moon.
That there isn’t a basic level of questioning of the premise behind voting on a machine is what makes me most furious.
Thirty years ago I taught word processing to kids. At that time most had no concept of spell check and when teaching them to use it I noticed something very strange. When spell check offered a replacement for a word the just accepted it with no concept of the words meaning that was substituted, they just accepted it because the computer told them was correct.
I suspect a good portion of people still accept whatever is presented to them on the computer screen. When their vote is displayed to them and they post it and the computer tells them they voted for someone else, oh well the computer got it right, I must have done it wrong.
