Video shows the arrest in Southern California of two suspected car thieves by a Santa Claus and a holiday elf who happened to be undercover police officers.
It happened in Riverside Thursday afternoon as the undercovers were conducting an operation targeting shoplifters and got word that there were "three suspicious men" casing vehicles to steal, police said.

Are they just released ASAP anyway? If states/cities are treating more and more property crimes as petty nonsense, then their police forces are just wealth transfer vehicles to send taxpayer money to “diverse” idle gubmint workers.
Just the title alone made me think this would be a perfect Barney Miller scene with Wojo and Fish.
The day before Thanksgiving, my neighbor on the next street over was going to go deer hunting. He loaded his car up, turned it on and went inside to wait 10 minutes for the vehicle to warm. When he came out, some guy was sitting in the driver’s seat grinding the gears, because he couldn’t drive a car with a stick shift.
My neighbor, pointed his shotgun at the driver’s side windshield and told him to turn the car off. He then called the cops while detaining the would-be car thief.
Locally there was a report of car break-ins. One idiot posted that this was due to high unemployment, stress of the wuhan, and “the need for money”.
