This was Trump’s Achilles heel. He never had personnel loyal to him. He relied upon the GOP and groups like the Federalist Society and Heritage Foundation to staff his administration. He needed hatchet men to make sure his work got done, not ivy league credentialed bureaucrats who never supported him subverting his agenda.

He has learned his lesson, and now is more aware of the fact he can't really trust anyone except for his tried and true. Should make for an interesting second term.
