we have to ask ourselves if one state really has standing to sue over how another state runs its business.

If not, then who would have standing to enforce Art. 1 sec. 4 clause 1?

The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof

“If not, then who would have standing to enforce Art. 1 sec. 4 clause 1?”

Perhaps the Citizens of the state in question?

The more I read up on this suit, the more I thought it something of a “hail, Mary” pass. There are yet other suits that can work their way up rather than this novel idea to get original jurisdiction, so the play is not over yet, just getting to the really tense music phase.

Even so, I don’t think the members of the court accurately judged what their dismissal signals to the tens of millions of voters who choose to believe their lyin’ eyes rather than carefully scripted voiceovers on surveillance tapes, and the Pravda-like judgments that have replaced what used to be called news reporting.

Looking through this thread, there may be no turning back the results of that signal. While I would have wished this was not the basket everyone put their eggs in, and I hope that we can hold yet a little longer, giving every opportunity for some other way out to spare us, I think it prudent to prepare for the worst.
