Georgia senators join federal lawsuit “to improve the reliability and transparency of the signature verification process”

Thursday, Senators David Perdue (R-Ga) and Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga) joined forces with the Georgia Republican Party and the National Republican Senatorial Committee in a federal lawsuit to “improve the reliability and transparency of the signature verification process.”

This comes as “an effort to increase the integrity of the elections process ahead of the upcoming runoff for both U.S. Senate seats in Georgia,” according to the press release.

The lawsuit “seeks to reaffirm these simple, non-partisan principles: every lawful vote cast should be counted, any illegal vote submitted cannot be counted and there must be full transparency and uniformity in the counting process.”

The requested relief is said to be necessary before the state can begin processing absentee ballots on Dec 21, “after which violations of the signature match verification process will be impossible to remedy.”

The senators issued the following statement:

“Georgia’s Senate elections will determine the future direction of our country -- everyone should have total confidence in its outcomes. That starts with making meaningful improvements to the reliability and transparency of the signature verification process. We need to do it now, before votes are processed. No American should ever have to question the integrity and credibility of our elections system. These are reasonable and actionable steps we can take immediately to further ensure the integrity and accuracy of our January 5 elections.”

The case papers filed Thursday say: “Georgia election officials, from the state level to the local level, have undertaken significant efforts to assure the integrity of the Georgia election process in the runoff. Those efforts should be commended, and this lawsuit is brought to augment and further improve them.”

The lawsuit will provide a county-by-county analysis of the state’s signature matching rejection rates during the November 2020 election, according to the press release.

I do agree with Lin Wood: "I saw this article & do not understand priorities of @KLoeffler & @sendavidperdue. Their priority should be for We The People. I believe the order of priority is 1. Nation 2. GA 11/3 election & 3 Their 1/5 runoff."

But at least they're doing something. SMH.

The Lt. Governor was on PBS (CNN paid for by taxpayers) from Georgia doing his best to act like a Republican while disparaging President Trump. I had to change channels with Woodruff and him doing their attack Trump thing.

Georgia state legislators should be concentrating on signature verification FOR THE RUNOFF ELECTION ON JANUARY 5th.

The Governor, SS, and Lt Governor are trying to support the establishment and perhaps avoid jail. All three are up in 2022 and it is hard to see them getting out of the primary unless they load it up with challengers. I would vote for the Libertarian candidates in the general if they win the primary.

whatever. I have my doubts loeffler actually beat collins in the first place. Purdue i semi like.

I live in GA, my vote will be out of respect and gratitude for Our President. Many other Georgians probably feel the same way. Securing the Senate is priority. ....even tho... we r voting on the Same Corrupt Dominion Pick A Dem Machine , That our dear SOS & Gov acquired..right..before the 11/3 Election.....

This is what Lin Wood & Sydney Powell were talking about ...the way in which we vote & lack of Loeffler & Purdue supporting the flippin Elephant in the room. Ofc MSM portrayed them as saying ‘dont go out and vote’... nope. i saw the revival that day, i heard exactly what they said.

Voting IN Person for runoff. & i have volunteered to be a poll watcher. We better win or all he££ is gonna break loose. The Revolution will begin in GA...how appropriate.
