Jimi Hendrix was a sincere admirer of the blues pioneers. He was always respectful of the traditional blues performers who went before his era, making a few dollars and being largely overlooked. One of my probably twenty books about him shows him holding Chicago The Blues Today, a low selling three volume vinyl series on Vanguard that had recordings of the Chicago blues emigres who left the South to go electric. I remember records like that from my youth.
So, does everyone in Portland afforded the same treatment?

I even had two six month layoffs, one of which included a 600 mile move to a new job and having to maintain the house and an apartment for 6 months.
At one point I called the mortgage company to ask if they had any programs for unemployed customers who were still paying their bills. Absolutely nothing.

We bought a 2 acre wooded lot next to my wifes business for 22k back in 1998. Two lane road out front. Rural area
Since then via housing developments the road out front is now 6 lanes and the state just put in a major 4 way intersection right next to the 2 acre lot.
We was offered last year 500k to sell it. We are holding off because the area contines to expand and now with white flite to our area it will grow even more.
What is funny is the guy we bought it from inherited it from his uncle and he wanted the money to buy a new motorcyle.
Best investment decision we have had.

We feel like suckers for having paid off $20,000 in federal student loans a few years ago.
