EU leaders agree to reduce emissions after all-night talks

BRUSSELS - European Union leaders reached a hard-fought deal Friday to cut the bloc’s net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by the end of the decade compared with 1990 levels, avoiding a hugely embarrassing deadlock ahead of a U.N. climate meeting this weekend.

Following night-long discussions at their two-day summit in Brussels, the 27 member states approved the EU executive commission’s proposal to toughen the bloc’s intermediate target on the way to climate neutrality by mid-century, after a group of reluctant, coal-reliant countries finally agreed to support the improved goal.

Five years after the Paris agreement, the EU wants to be a leader in the fight against global warming.

Greenpeace and other environmental groups have said the improved EU target is insufficient to properly tackle climate change.

EU leaders also encouraged the commission to propose a carbon tax at the bloc’s borders for countries that did do not regulate CO2 emissions as strictly as the EU does.

Then they hop on their private jets and head home, after being picked up in a limousine.

“EU leaders agree to reduce emissions after all-night talks”

Must’ve been a lot of farting during the “talks”...

The Idiots in Germany spend almost a Trillion Euro on wind and solar and emissions went up because they took their nuke plants offline. And, the sun does not shine in Germany!

Just the collective farts of those in attendance at the all night session alone caused a marked increase in greenhouse gas

We all know how this charade works. Yurps preach to everybody else but fail to live up to their own standards.

Then they have some stormy contentious meeting in which everybody agrees to some hugely expensive unrealistic boondoggle. This allows Yurps to continue preaching to everybody else.

Then of course, European countries unanimously fail to live up to the huge commitments they’ve made. Rinse, Repeat.

So China’s on board? I don’t think so. Look up their carbon emissions...you’ll see that anything the EU does will be neutralized immediately by China, and not to mention the Third World.

Carbon dioxide does not contribute to global warming (or cooling, or ANY kind of climate change), in any way, shape, form or manner.

Water vapor does. And it is completely, absolutely, impossible to regulate water vapor.

India is not part of the EU so I guess they are also exempt.

Correct regarding India, but they don’t send nearly as much carbon up as China. Both countries, and the rest of the Developing World, ask why they should trash their economies and thus keep their people suffering forever, when the West had no constraints during their growth.

They have a good point, which is why their potentates have to be bribed to get on board, on this crap.

All just a fart in the wind given projected increases in Chinese and Indian coal power plants.
