The U.S. executed convicted felon Brandon Bernard on Thursday, despite objections by some of the jurors in his trial who pleaded with the Trump administration to show him mercy, a media witness confirmed.
Bernard, 40, was the youngest person ever to receive a federal death sentence. He was put to death for the 1999 killing of two Texas youth ministers.
His execution proceeded despite vocal pushback from activists and ongoing legal challenges. The Trump administration in July resumed federal executions.

Very good news.
Very good news.
another article:
“I pray that even in his death, Brandon will advance his commitment to helping others by moving us closer to a time when this country does not pointlessly and maliciously kill young Black men who pose no threat to anyone,”
poses no threat to anyone except for the people he executed, right?
Good riddance garbage. justice waited 20 years too long.
All to often those demanding mercy regarding a killer overlook the victims. This man denied them their natural life, thus his should also be denied. Age at the time of the murders, race and how good he is now has nothing to do with it.
Agreed.
They should have done it 20 years ago . . .
Not going to give MSN a click to know the author of that, but perhaps they could ponder their screed while locked in the trunk of a car, ... and smelling smoke.
The basis of objections was due to the fact he was 18 when he committed his crimes.
Not innocence.
I don’t care if he had been 13.
The only error made in this matter is waiting for 20 years to carry out the sentence. The impact of the death sentence is to not only punish the criminal but to deter others. The latter provision is totally lost after even 5 years.
About time! 21 years later justice is served.
Didnt even notice the lights flicker........
