VALDOSTA, Ga. - Convinced that the presidential election had been stolen from Donald Trump, the young couple from Blairsville, Georgia at first resolved to skip the state’s Jan. 5 runoffs for two U.S. Senate seats. What’s the point, they figured, of voting in another rigged election?
Then they thought better of it, setting aside their anger for the more pressing concern of keeping one of the two houses of Congress under Republican control.
“Everybody is going to vote,” said Kayla Frank, 25.
Frank and her partner - 28-year-old C.J. Townsend - had joined thousands of Trump supporters at a rally in Valdosta, Georgia on Saturday night. Trump had come to tell Georgia Republicans to vote in the Senate races that would decide which party controls Congress. But he spent most of the rally repeating his false and widely debunked election-fraud claims - and bashing leading Georgia Republicans for not helping him overturn his loss.
It’s a mixed message that many Republicans fear could tilt the tight Georgia Senate races in favor of Democrats if any significant number of Trump supporters boycott the election - as some of the president’s supporters have advocated in right-wing social media circles.
But voters like Frank and Townsend have tuned them out, according to Reuters interviews with 50 Republican voters over the past week in rural, urban and suburban areas of Georgia. All 50 said they planned to vote in Senate runoffs they deemed crucial - even though almost all believed the presidential election was tainted by fraud. (One, however, said he would support Democrats.)
The interviews suggest that Republican Senate candidates could see strong voter turnout despite the turmoil that has engulfed the Georgia Republican party, pitting Trump loyalists against top Republican state officials the president has attacked for rebuffing his fraud allegations.

This is a “get out the vote” effort for the Democrats. Tell them the Republicans are fired up so that the Dems will vote.
Republicans are fired up alright - AGAINST RIGGED ELECTIONS! If they don’t get rid of the voting machines and straighten out all the outright FRAUD, it won’t matter how many Republicans vote. Forget about “get out to vote efforts”. STOP THE STEAL efforts are FIRST and FOREMOST.
Yes,coming from Al Reuters that’s exactly what it is.
Bump
Until these 2 morons call for a special session and visibly and verbally support Trump, Georgians are NOT fired up.
I will vote for my senators here. Dependent on the vote rigging it may be the last time I vote, the last time many of us vote.
Side note, none of my Loffler or Purdue signs have been vandalized like my Trump signs were. I’m sure they’ve got my address as I put up 2 huge 4’x8’ Trump signs but we are stocked up and I’ve also posted no trespassing signs on all corners of my property.
On the other hand, their opponents are easily worth voting against and the intentions of the Dems are easily worth voting against and the outside interference of money money money is worth voting against.
If you are a Georgian and you voted in the General Election, this is a no brainer. In my circle we are circling the wagons and looking for people who didn't vote but are registered to turn out the vote.
So long as the previously secret illegal deal between Rattenburger and Stacey Abrams that significantly favors Democrats remains in place, and their votes are electronically sent off to foreign countries to be counted, they shouldn’t expect to win.
In fact even winning elections that have suspicious underpinnings, can be suspicious itself.
Indeed. Collins needs to run for governor. I wint vote for kemp.
Perhaps Republicans in Georgia should show up en masse at every polling place and tear down any ‘blinds’ that the corrupt poll workers put up. In other words, do not allow them too cheat in secrecy - make sure they are aware that it is not acceptable behavior to us, the people.
I would vote for Collins. But, I would also vote for Kemp. Listen, we are so lucky to have Kemp in this Covid-19 Pandemic that we best count our lucky stars. Can you imagine Georgia if Stacey had been Governor? I think Kemp has done a good job and have no problem if he is our candidate next election cycle.
But, I kind of like the idea of a Collins primary challenge. I'd give that a try since Kemp is a bit radioactive. Or let Loeffler run (if she wins in the runoff) and vacate the Senate for Collins to run for Senator in 2022 (yes, same seat is up for election in 2022). However, Loeffler (assuming she wins in the runoff) could help the GOP with turnout and votes among women in 2022 either way, as Senate Candidate or even Governor.
Post of the day as far as I’m concerned. These races are must wins. Anything less and were screwed.
Isn’t there anyone else in Georgia. Collins is awesome but statewide he can’t seem to win. He’s tried twice at least.
I totally agree. They should show up en masse BEFORE THE ELECTION at the state house and DEMAND that voting machines NOT BE USED.
They can employ a big accounting firm to count the votes instead. Those voting machines can insure a DemocRAT victory regardless of other shenanigans.
ROFL. At least you’re not filibustering everyone with how wonderful you think those Dominion voting machines are. At least not yet.
Still awaiting your apologies.
The special election should be postponed since large-scale voter fraud tainted the runoff election. The primary winners may have achieved their victory through fraud. Corruption runs deep through both Georgia parties.
RepubliChumps gonna chump.
