The toll on one of the bridges to get into NYC is $17 per car.....and they are still losing money.
Schadenfreude....will never step into NYC again.
I know PA good. I always thought the Turnpike was the PA DNC money machine. They kept the teamster toll collectors cushy with $20 an hour great bennies, BUT now they going all digital? I think they’ll turn our way soon enough.
Once 287 was finished and trucks from real America (where they grow food and make stuff) could easily reach New England, then the tolls were just punishing locals - and when the mass transit system (not so much into the city, but within the city) is a violent filthy mess, normals don’t want to use it.
