A few years ago, I got interested in President Rutherford B. Hayes. His presidency came to my attention because the 19th president is a huge hero in Paraguay. Why? He supported Paraguay's territorial claims and saved the country. He got a province, a school, and several streets named after him way south of the border. As my friend from Paraguay said, you'll get a free lunch in Asuncion if your last name is Hayes!
President Hayes was also famous for the 1876 election and the compromise that put him in the White House. Though Samuel J. Tilden won the popular vote, several electoral votes were disputed. A purely partisan vote by an Electoral Commission gave the victory to Hayes. The deal was concluded days before March 4th, the day on which we inaugurated presidents back then.
This is relevant today because too many people want to rush the Biden presidency. In fact, there is no deadline other than January 20th at noon. We have lots of time before a final decision has to be made, as Paul Bedard wrote:
States rushing to brush aside President Trump’s legal challenges to begin picking electors by Monday are being advised to slow down in a new advisory that says the only date the Constitution mentions is Jan. 20, Inauguration Day.
Citing language in the famous Bush vs. Gore Supreme Court decision, the advisory said that while federal law sets two days in December for moving forward with the Electoral College voting, the Constitution doesn’t.

That's right. It's January 20th that matters most. Just ask President Hayes!
Only the 20th Amendment changes the inauguration of a new president from March 4th to January 20th. If extra time is needed, repeal the 20th Amendment and continue Trump’s first term to March 4th. That would provide enough time to work our cause though the courts and state houses.
Just ask President Hayes!

Can’t. He dead.
repeal the 20th Amendment

You do know that repealing any amendment will take years? The majority of the states would have to sign off on it after the question was put to the voters.
Sure, go through the process to repeal an amendment in three weeks.
Some of the thinking on FR these days is simply bizzare.
The 26th Amendment was passed in just over three months. If an amendment could be passed in that short of time, one can be passed in a couple weeks.
Based upon Justice Alito’s direction to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania yesterday, in which he ordered the state to respond to a lawsuit by this morning at 0800, I think it likely that Alito will issue an injunction against seating the electors, possibly within the hour. I also think that the Texas lawsuit against Georgia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan, which is supported by Amicus briefs from multiple other states, is going to get the attention of the Supreme Court. Not sure that the entire court will hear both (or more) cases, but I suspect one will make it and it will make a difference.
Just ask President Hayes!

Can’t. He dead.
If he’s dead, how did he vote for Biden?
I listened to Dana Coverstone’s dream about December, and he says the 17th is going to be a very significant day. We’ll see if he’s right. Pray without ceasing.
Mailed his ballot in before the d3adoine.
Right, voted early and often.
Hate autocorrect. Deadline.
There are several As pending now and have been for over a decade. This isn’t 1971 and it isn’t about the rights of 18 year olds to drink. Come up with something like that and make it 1971 again and it would pass - what you suggest is too controversial and would never pass - let alone in a few weeks - that’s not even enough time to research the legalities and write it..
If he’s dead, how did he vote for Biden?

Time machine tied to Dominion voting systems?
“The 20th article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed.”
That was not too difficult to write.
exactly.
You mentioned Texas’ lawsuit against the 4 states.
OK, The question must be asked because the issue keeps being brought up by the liberal wing of the court everytime a similar lawsuit is filed. Does Texas have any standing as to the internal affairs of these 4 other
Whip it up in your spare time, pass it out to all states, get their legislators to meet, put on ballots, hold elections, get results from all the states, send to House and Senate, pass in both, get whoever is President to sign, all before 1/20/21 - you da man!
When I was a kid, I really thought Rutherford B. Hayes was a black man.
I swear it sometimes changing things after I click the post button.
