New Jersey pro-life leaders are warning their state about a massive new pro-abortion bill that would legalize abortions up to birth and jeopardize the lives of mothers and babies.
A pet project of pro-abortion Gov. Phil Murphy, the bill (S3030/A4848) would force taxpayers to pay for abortions and eliminate a conscience protection clause for medical workers who believe it is wrong to kill an unborn baby.
Murphy introduced the radical pro-abortion bill, the Reproductive Freedom Act, in October. State Senate and Assembly committees are considering it this month.
“This outrageous bill strips babies of their right to live, strips women of their right to safe healthcare, strips NJ healthcare workers and taxpayers of their rights of conscience not to participate in abortion, and even disenfranchises citizens from being able to rescind it in the future. This anti-freedom bill must be stopped in its tracks,” said Christine Flaherty, executive director of LIFENET.
Flaherty and other pro-life leaders are uniting to stop the legislation through a new coalition, Working Together. This week, they began a series of peaceful pro-life protests outside the offices of key state lawmakers.
On Wednesday, about 80 pro-lifers urged state Assemblywoman Mila Jasey, D-Maplewood, to drop her sponsorship of the dangerous bill and support life, Tap Into West Essex reports.
Shawn Hyland, director of advocacy for Family Policy Alliance of New Jersey, participated in the protest. He said the legislation would allow babies to be “aborted up to the point of birth” and, if it passes, “late-term abortions will be fully paid for by your taxes and your health insurance.”
ACTION ALERT: Please go here to contact members of the New Jersey legislature to urge a NO vote on this bill.
Others warned that the legislation would hurt the very women that supporters claim to want to help.
“The Reproductive Freedom Act is a human trafficker’s best friend,” said Rev. Greg Quinlan of Garden State Families. “[It] will allow anyone, of any age, regardless of their residency, to receive an abortion at the expense of New Jersey taxpayers. New Jersey taxpayers will be paying for abortions for women victimized by human traffickers.”
According to New Jersey Right to Life, the bill would invalidate all current and future laws that restrict abortions and allow non-doctors to abort unborn babies. It also would get rid of the state 1974 conscience clause that protects medical workers who object to aborting unborn babies.
The legislation would give taxpayer dollars to the abortion industry as well by mandating state budget funding to the billion-dollar abortion chain Planned Parenthood. It also would require all state health insurance plans to cover abortions, according to the pro-life organization.
The Rev. Clenard H. Childress Jr., founder of BlackGenocide.org, said the bill especially could hurt African American women and babies — key targets of the abortion industry.
“This lowering of care for disproportionately African American women is typical of the callous abortion industry,” Childress said. “Abortion is the most performed surgery on a woman. No doctors?”
Not just about a woman’s so-called “right to choose,” the legislation also would weaken protections for babies outside the womb.
According to New Jersey Right to Life: “It will essentially gut the NJ Safe Haven Infant Protection Act which has saved the lives of 77 precious newborns since its enactment. The bill ‘eliminates the requirement that a medicolegal death investigation be conducted in a case where a fetal death occurs without medical attendance.’”
Marie Tasy, executive director of New Jersey Right to Life, said the legislation looks similar to the radical pro-abortion law that New York passed in 2019.
“Contrary to the claims of those who make a profit from the bodies of women and the killing of innocent children, abortion is not a safe procedure and laws like this will surely place more women’s lives in danger,” Tasy said. “Abortion is not healthcare. It is an act of violence that wounds countless women and brutally and painfully takes the lives of so many innocent children.”
Planned Parenthood, the Cherry Hill Women’s Center, the ACLU of New Jersey and New Jersey Policy Perspective all support the legislation, as does First Lady Tammy Murphy.
About 41,000 unborn babies are aborted every year in New Jersey, according to NJ Spotlight News; but the governor’s plan could mean even more unnecessary killings.
Which is ridiculous.
It’s just an excuse to kill babies, because these days, after about 20-24 weeks gestation, if the life of the mother is truly in danger and she needs to deliver the baby, neonatal care provides a great success rate and the baby can be safely delivered and will be viable.
There is NO need to kill the baby beyond that point to *save the life of the mother*.
You can save BOTH lives.
Republicans should demand an amendment that says, “Okay. Fine. As long as the parents are registered demonicRATS”. And then watch the fallout.
I think if anyone here doesnt see theres only one way we’re going to have to deal with the libtard socialists, and everything is just leading to it, you’re truly blind. After all this.
They are lawless people.
Revel in violence.
Revel in murder.
They love lying cheating and stealing.
They hate normal people,
ie the people that make this country great.
They hate everything good. They love everything that is evil.
Time and again they show nothing short of death will stop them.
Wake up. Its unpleasant and unfortunate. But its going to need to happen or they have already said they will do it to us,
Why stop there? Mothers ought to be able to kill their babies up until they enter the first grade. Mothers have rights you know.
Time for some so called Journalists and Politicians to receive Taxpayer Funded Post Birth Abortions performed in front of the US Capitol Building.
Infanticide made legal.
How about we abort Antifa and leave babies alone. Think you can do that Democrats?
I guess they’re not all that worried about COVID wiping out the human race after all.
NJ doesn’t have any restrictions on abortion to speak of, so why bother? Oh, to make a point.
Every law passed is a precedent. Another step closer to an end. If you can kill babies up to the point of birth then what is there stopping you from killing when they’re... five?

Save the baby and abort the host if one must be aborted.
