The Michigan State Republican Party Friday sounded an alarm about an ethically questionable memo authorized by Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson that “is pushing for the mass deletion of election data.”
Michigan Republican Party Chairman Laura Cox in a statement Friday, said that Benson’s office issued orders to clerks in Michigan counties to “delete Electronic Poll Book software and associated files” even as calls to audit the election persist.
Secretary Benson’s move to delete this data before an audit raises a serious question, what are the Democrats hiding? https://t.co/49umKx4kAV

Cox was referring to a December 1, 2020, memo from the Michigan Bureau of Elections, an agency overseen by Benson’s office, that read, “[Electronic Poll Book] software and associated files must be deleted from all devices by the seventh calendar day following the final canvass and certification of the election (November 30, 2020) unless a petition for recount has been filed and the recount has not been completed, a post-election audit is planned but has not yet been completed, or the deletion of the data has been stayed by an order of the court or the Secretary of State.”
The order targeted data contained in Electronic Poll Book software and in files contained on laptops and USB drives using during the election.
“Secretary Benson’s move to request the deletion of election data amidst bipartisan calls for an audit is just another example of her putting partisan politics over what’s best for Michigan,” Cox said in the Friday statement.
“With election irregularities rampant across the state,” Cox added, “it is vital that we have this audit before any election data is deleted. Secretary Benson’s move to delete this data before an audit raises a serious question, what are the Democrats hiding?”
This week, witnesses, including a poll worker in Detroit and GOP poll challengers, testified at a Michigan State Legislature hearing into the myriad complaints of vote fraud and ballot tampering throughout the state on Election Day and afterward.
Michigan’s Secretary of State told reporters that there is no evidence of vote fraud, ballot tampering, or irregularities that would overturn the election, despite the mountain of evidence to the contrary.
It is the coverup that is just as, or even more, damning than the original crime itself.
It worked for the Hildabeast.
Hopefully Team Trump quickly produces some Ruby videos from TCF center
This is why I want Barr and his DOJ’s paws away from any of this investigation. They would be there burning the evidence instead of gathering it.
They are Twittering out the evidence, or Facebooking fact checking it out... memory hole crowd.
Is she the ugly teen woman that was all hostile at the hearing ?
Time to declare Martial Law and arrest all the traitors.
Government should be held to the same SOX standards as private industry. There’s no reason to delete data. Storage is cheap enough to maintain ten years worth of election data.
The Michigan Secretary of State should be charged and tried for giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
Spoliation.
Learn the term and start using it everywhere.
The biggest problem here is that the defendants are in control of the evidence.
If they start destroying records it can be assumed in a court of law that it must’ve contained evidence Adverse to their case.
THIS is an admission of GUILT.
Plain and simple.
Illegal and unconstitutional.
The election theft occurred in public view, now the cover-up is also being conducted in public view.
From the Trump speech yesterday: “The only conceivable reason why you would block commonsense measures to verify legal eligibility for voting, is you are trying to encourage, enable, solicit or carry out fraud.”
From Trump’s EO Sept. 2018:Sec. 2. a (ii) to have materially assisted, sponsored, or provided financial, material, or technological support for, or goods or services to or in support of, any activity described in subsection (a)(i) Sec. 2. a (i) to have directly or indirectly engaged in, sponsored, concealed, or otherwise been complicit in foreign interference in a United States election.
Sounds like Trump invoked this and sounded the alarm to the DOD (Chris Miller) and possibly others.
Not a far stretch to say it could happen very soon.
Yep, that is exactly right.
Democrats scream and yell and do everything eles they can to allow anyone and everyone to vote without ID or addresses, or anything, but then once we have voted allow no one to verify any vote. THATS HOW YOU CHEAT AND GET AWAY WITH IT.
CRIMINALS ALL OF THEM.
Gosh...in our state, I think that election materials need to be archived for something like 22 months following the election.
It is illegal for conservatives to destroy evidence . . . just thought y’all would like to know.
From I know from couple of states I have been involved in (do not know about Michigan), it is mandated to keep all the election materials intact for two years! Erasing anything now should be illegal.
Only if you get caught.
