I believe we’ve all become skeptical and cynical and I don’t like it

*************

We have lost faith in our governing institutions at all levels. And rightly so. There is no more law and order, justice or integrity. Its all one big corrupt system. A giant kleptocracy.

We thought we could avoid the fate of Rome. It looks like we were wrong. I’ve been studying its fall and the parallels with our decline are uncanny.

You’re absolutely correct and what makes it worse is how do we accept that we’ve been lied to since the day we were born and started our educations? That goes back to the thirties for many of us - the “born” part - not the education part - HA! We became of age and started to vote, got married, raised families, worked until retirement age, saw grandchildren come into the world and now they’re going to be left with what the “progressives” dream of and are on their way to achieving? No one will put the brakes on those in our Congress or state houses who espouse socialism for the country - no one will be censured in any legislative body for their outright condemnation and desire to destroy our country...Pelosi and everyone of any authority is afraid to speak the words about those horrible females elected to the House. WHY?

What was Senator Joe McCarthy all about? Communists in the State Department....he wasn’t wrong! What do we have today - congress-critters who openly support communism even if they don’t call it by name! This country got excited about Hollywood celebrities supporting communism. Why did we care? Oh - they got blacklisted - too bad! A heck of a lot better in Hollywood than in our Senate and House...

WHY do we have more questions than answers? You’re right - the rise and fall of the United States...Does me good to remember this but why - I do not know! Since everyone speaks of the US as a democracy, we won’t quibble about this here.

“”Alexander Fraser Tytler quotes:

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.”
― Alexander Fraser Tytler
