Juan Williams, co-host of the Fox News afternoon talk show “The Five,” has tested positive for COVID-19, the television personality confirmed with The Hill.

Williams, who is also a columnist at The Hill, said he was informed that he had tested positive Thursday after a routine Monday weekly test at Fox News’s New York headquarters. Upon receiving the news, he took another test, which confirmed he was carrying the virus.

The 66-year-old added that he is experiencing “flu-like symptoms,” including chills and headaches. He added that he was taken from New York to Washington, D.C., where he is staying at a hotel so as not to infect his wife.

Williams had taped a live episode of “The Five” in New York on Wednesday along with several co-hosts, including conservative commentators Jesse Watters and Greg Gutfeld. The hosts all sat about 7 feet apart due to the pandemic.He

It mean then the mask is collecting the virus..

so your mask would become a bio hazzard itself...

If cloth mask are you sterilising daily?

How are you handling your mask ?

If the mask block any virus or germ.. then it is in the mask.. and you still handling is so still in contact will all the thing it collected as you handel it

(The virus doesn’t bounce off the mask.. the mask is a filter and what it filter is then in it and your still handling it)

Medical workers desposal of there protective gear.. and anyone handling or cleaning that Medical gear also follow bio hazard procedures

An 80 yr. old went to a small gathering of 3 family couples for dinner. One of them had covid and didn’t know it, now the 80 is very very sick with covid.

As I see it at 80 she probably should have not gone to this gathering. These are the people who get hit the hardest as I understand it.

Hogwash! There are studies on both sides. Lots of studies showing no benefit. And others showing they help.

Happily, we don't need to debate this any longer. Lots of states and countries with strict requirements for masks and excellent compliance are seeing cases explode just as hard as places without masks. If masks worked, THEY WOULD WORK! Since they haven't....

Some studies have shown that the virus does not last for long on porous surfaces (24 hours on cardboard), because they pull water away from the virus. So the virus would die out within hours.

I go out once or twice a week; hanging the mask to dry between outings is sufficient to kill any virus that might be present. During the summer, I would have said that placing the mask on a hot dashboard would disinfect it fairly rapidly, but that method won’t work these days. I handwash the masks when they become dirty or when we have been around large numbers of people, and allow them to fully air dry before using again.

If you are concerned about donning and doffing a mask several times in a day, you can get a portable UV sanitizer. I bought one at Lowe’s for $15. I will mention that I made my masks with elastic going around the head, so that I do not have to touch the outside of the mask to put it on. When I am in my car, the mask stays around my neck, then I grab the edges of it to pull it over my face when I arrive at a store. I also use the hand sanitizer at the store entrance just in case I did touch the outside of the mask.

The importance of masks is not to 100% trap the virus. It is to decrease the amount of virus that you might be exposed to, to below infectious levels.

I have been to many, many places where people are wearing masks, but pull them down below their nose as soon as employees of the establishments they are in are unable to see them. And they continue to get within close proximity of other people. Yeah, they might be wearing masks, but in such a way as to make the masks completely useless. I have walked out of places where I have seen large numbers of people wearing their masks so ineffectively.

People who do not take Covid-19 seriously also do not adhere to proper infection control measures. Thus, you see an explosion of cases even though control measures are in place.

Odd. I’ve yet to see that, and I’m in a mask-hating, no mandate part of Arizona. In the local WalMart, where the store requires masks, I’d guess about 5% remove them entirely. The rest wear them. All the way.

You are ASSUMING masks work, and then blaming rising cases on people not wearing them well. But I’m seeing very good compliance - excellent in Tucson - and cases are exploding. As they are in places where failing to wear a mask brings heavy fines.

Prior to March, multiple studies done over 50 years had concluded wearing a surgical mask in a hospital had ZERO impact on transmission of viruses. When a nurse (like my wife) needed protection from viruses, they masked up with fitted masks, gowns, gloves, and had procedures to remove all that without contamination. Same with NBC gear in the military: we had places to SHOWER as well as remove gear, and NO ONE thought a mask without any other gear did squat!

But idiot Dem govs and the rabid media decided to pretend masks would save us, and all we needed to do was “Wear the damn mask!” We even have a CDC director who thinks wearing a bandana is more effective than getting a vaccine!

Utter insanity!
