LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Racism is being declared a public health crisis in Louisville.
Mayor Greg Fischer signed an executive order on Tuesday outlining a plan to advance racial equity for Black residents of the city.
This comes after months of protests. Fischer says, "The protests we've seen are about people's absence of those things in their lives and for generations past. We must always strive to understand the long standing and justifiable grievances behind the protest."
The executive order outlines seven key areas for city government to address the city's racial equity challenges: public safety; children and families; Black employment; Black wealth; housing and neighborhood investment; health; and voting.
Fischer said 2020 gives Louisville an opportunity to transform after a year of challenges including the COVID-19 pandemic, the economic downturn, an increase in gun violence and the protests over racial justice and the death of Breonna Taylor.
The mayor said the "tragic death" of Taylor made Louisville a focal point for the nation's painful "reckoning on racial justice." He said the goal in declaring the crisis is to address the issue and the causes of racism, acknowledge its impact and repair the community.
"For too many Louisvillians, racism is a fact of daily life, a fact that was created and documented in our country's laws and institutional policies like segregation, redlining, and urban renewal,"

It's only a so-called "public health crisis" if all race-baiting Democrats (such as Louisville mayor, Greg Fischer) will first publicly admit the clear, indisputable fact that they're all "racists." Only then can race-baiting Democrat politicians make progress in cleansing themselves of all their obvious racism. I'm a Republican and I'm not a racist. And it seems to me that the overwhelming vast majority of Republicans are not racists. But the Louisville mayor claims it's suddenly a huge, massive "public health crisis." Thus, the opposite of what the race-baiting Democrat mayor is saying must be true -- the perpetual race-baiting Democrats (such as Greg Fischer himself) are racists. Glad that's all cleared up.
Urban renewal was passed by Democrats in various legislative bodies and administered by mayors of big cities, almost all Democrats.
We should help form a country in western Africa for emancipated Blacks...
It will be Utopia, no, Wakanda...
The racism health crisis would largely disappear if people didn’t have to duck all the race cards being thrown.
Since Louisville is apparently all affected by this epidemy, we should all avoid it. Do not go there, you may get infected!
Louisville has blown past 125+ murders this year and it isn’t over yet.
Half are never solved. This doesn’t count the shootings with survivors, or the knife attacks, or the beatings, car-jackings, home invasions, child abuse, drug deals and other crimes of “oppression.”
Fisher’s solution is to throw more money at a problem that is entrenched in the black culture.
Since taking office he's
As Charles Barkley would say, "He's turrible!"
It seems to me these people are preparing for Nationalized healthcare. All these fake “health crisis’” will be a back door to stomp on your free speech-—or guns-—or whatever they can’t pass via the legislative process.
So, did he adopt some black folks to live in his house or not?
Utter BS
They are a little late to this party. Our county health department made this declaration MONTHS ago.
Look at me! Look at me!! I'm important too, y'know ... and I want RESPECT!!!
Next, perhaps he’ll sign a statement defining exactly what “racism” is (and isn’t).
And when will this ‘health crisis’ be over? When this buttmunch says it is?
A POS spouting BS. His executive order will only make him feel better while providing excuses for those who blame whites for everything wrong in their lives.
Yes, racism against whites is out of control. Hope he does something about that soon.
Stupidity, not racism, is a public health crisis, Greg boy.
The executive order outlines seven key areas for city government to address the city’s racial equity challenges: public safety; children and families; Black employment; Black wealth; housing and neighborhood investment; health; and voting.
Feckless cowardly self hating whites and radical blacks.
Been there
Tried that
