A more pertinent factor than race is the fact that ALL of the suspects in these highly-publicized cases resisted arrest and ignored police instructions; several attacked police as part of their resistance.
And from the video, the officers didn’t fire till he reached the end of the ally/drive they were chasing him in and reached a busy street with passing traffic. They’re supposed to leave him loose on a busy street?

Without making a specific comment about this particular shooting, it is well known that police departments don’t hire people near the top of the food chain. If you have an IQ of over 104, good luck in getting hired.
Media quick to point out race of participants except when it’s black killing white. Then no mention is ever made.
It sounds like the perp tried the “Blazing Saddles” maneuver or something.
The fact he was currently pointing the gun at his own head is irrelevant. What matters is his refusal to comply and drop the gun. If you are aiming at someone they can decide to aim and shoot you before your brain tells your trigger finger to curl. That is the basis for all the noncompliance shootings. If people fail to comply with movement commands, how much confidence can you have they won’t use their weapon trying to kill you in an effort to escape?
