President Donald Trump has shared a call from his ally Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) to consider granting a pardon to himself.
After he detailed the full pardon of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn on Wednesday, Trump retweeted a number of posts, largely related to claims of election fraud as he persists with his action against the election outcome.
Among posts he shared was a call from Gaetz made prior to Flynn's pardoning, which had encouraged the president to carry out this action.
In the clip from Fox News, Gaetz had also said Trump should consider using his pardoning powers for others should he see fit—including himself.

Which is going to happen anyway at the state level. A presidential pardon will not cover that. No doubt the next few years will be challenging for the Trump Organization and the Trump family. New York, banks, and others are out for blood.

I think that President Trump should also include pardons for *everyone* in his administration he thinks the Democrats might still try to persecute. If he did that for dozens or even hundreds of people, it would not stand out that he also pardoned himself.
Importantly, a pardon does not apply just to existing crimes, but crimes they *might* have committed intentionally or not.
The list should include the VP, all cabinet officers, all White House functionaries, many of their wives and husbands, Republican members of the senate and house who have been criminally threatened. etc.
