It dates me that I used to watch DC-3s and DC-4s there, with their gear and flaps down, with my grand dad...
I remember seeing a few of them (DC-3s) when I was a real little kid. I grew up a couple miles west of Midway. Back then I often used Midway Airport as a playground. No security or crap like that back then (1960s and early 70s). You could roam the terminals.
