If it was a legitimate concealed carry holder I would have expected him or her to hang around to verify the perp was not a threat and to try to render aid to the victim.
Shooting a murderer and then disappearing is odd.
Shooter knew that in the US today, even if he was completely justified, an overzealous DA would charge him with murder if the shootee was the wrong color.
Don’t blame him a bit for de-upping out of there.

Back during the Mariel boat lift the Tampa police began arresting robbers who had been based in Miami. When they were asked why they were so far north they replied that if the Mariel boat people spotted them robbing in Miami, which they had claimed as their territory, the Mariel people would shoot them.
One possibility is the robber was from a gang associated with a different turf.
In days gone by that was the correct response. Now days, the honest citizens have to fear the corrupt government and their media sycophants. Just look at the case of Kyle Rittenhouse.

Not in this day and age. Even IF it was a totally legitimate shoot, he still could be facing anywhere from $10k to $15K in legal costs to get off. IF the dead perp was black, maybe even more or not get off at all. Yeah. Can’t say as I blame him for disappearing asap.
FWIW, in and around these parts, it’s shoot, shovel and shut up. Actually, there’s a real nice bayou down the road that is solid chock full of gators and turtles. Not much that goes in it, ever comes back out. Then, there are feral hogs everywhere around here and they will eat anything....just sayin’.
