Some sort of partition? Maybe not along State lines either. Look at Michigan, you have a beautiful state with one city/county that is controlling the politics of the entire state, and they are doing it by cheating.
Any attempt to bring that to light is met with cries of "racist", and so nothing is ever fixed.
These infected urban zones need to be quarantined, maybe converted to "city-states" on the old Italian model, where they can do what ever they want within the borders, but have no ability to effect the state.
The South Africans made a decision to not fight for a part of South Africa, a partitioned off homeland for themselves, but to bet on somehow salvaging the whole thing.

What you suggest is a radical step that would cut Democrat power. Do you think Democrats would allow any such thing? Do you think Republicans would fight for anything other than their own jobs?
