Health officials are pleading with Californians to skip the usual Thanksgiving gatherings to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, but what if people don't follow safety measures issued by health officials?
While the fall COVID-19 surge in the Golden State isn't as severe as the one spiraling in other parts of the country (especially the Midwest), California is at a tipping point where cases could explode and hospitals become overwhelmed.
If people gather in large groups inside without masks, the situation could become catastrophic, health officials say.
"Our actions now will dictate what happens this winter," said San Francisco Public Health Director Dr. Grant Colfax. "Do not gather, especially inside. People who test negative can still harbor the virus if they’re early in their infection. That’s why people who are exposed should quarantine for two weeks."
"This is one of the most highly traveled weeks of the year in normal times," said Colfax. "This year, do not travel. Stay at home with your immediate household. We know the more activity there is across a region the virus spreads more quickly.'
UCSF epidemiologist Dr. George Rutherford said Friday in a pandemic update posted online that the aftermath of the Oct. 12 Thanksgiving holiday in Canada shows what could happen here in California.
Like California and the rest of the United States, Canada was on an upward trajectory in cases before its holiday. Afterwards, cases increased even more.
"This is what we’re worried about, and here’s some evidence right in front of you," said Rutherford."

They might get a cold or flu, or have an upset tummy from too much turkey and mashed potato.
I have sure seen allot of booze being bought at the supermarkets in the last few days along with thanksgiving goodies.. I don’t think people are planning on just a couple of people over for dinner.

Ummm - if that is enforced, then before long, 99% of the State would be in quarantine and would never get out of the loop.

If Californians don’t ‘behave’ and are turned in by their ‘neighbors’ (Statists), Newsom can just increase the rolling blackouts. I wouldn’t put it past him. No electricity? Turkey won’t cook.
Just an FYI- the SpaceX launch a couple of days ago was in peril. There was a blackout in the Vandenberg area and they weren’t sure if they would be able to launch. Thankfully the electricity was back on in time. Do not forget who is in charge in California. And if you do forget, you will suffer your comeuppance.

Anyone heard any reports of companies instructing their employees about how to conduct themselves during the holiday..?

The first clue that CA might survive is news that Gavin has been taken from his home and terminated.
On Saturday I went to Yosemite national park. The place was packed. 99% of the cars had California plates. I think that the state, especially Gavin Newsom has lost all moral authority to hand out edicts while they live it up .

It’s certainly all the rage now-a-days.
One is told to:
Avoid grills
Avoid crowds
Avoid relatives
Avoid eating food prepared by others including close relatives
Wear masks at dinner with relatives
Anything other than the above is considered “Risky Behavior” and subjects you to being severely attacked by virus particles.
I think just for the hell of it I’m going to call the Po-Po and snitch on every neighborhood in Cali that’s district went Democrat.
