perhaps it’s time to GET OFF of facebook and delete your account.
yeah, losing out on the high school connections etc sucks but it’s time to go.
I deactivated my account after the Floyd riots when I realized some stupid old post / comment could cost me my job. I would reactivate maybe once a week for a few minutes to see what was up with people etc... and then deactivate again
after the election, I flat out deleted the account for good. Yes, I know that the information will never disappear from facebooks servers but why make it easy for anyone. I only have a linkedin account for professional purposes.
I’ve set up a MeWe account and am linked to just my mom and my two sisters. On Facebook I’m linked to them and three others. That’s it. I unfriended everyone else. I go on every morning to read my Memories and I’m saving them to a word document so that by this time next year, I’ll have them all. I don’t update any more, and rarely make any remarks.
The defense contractor I worked for 30+ years on classified information discouraged us from registering with any of the social media sites. No point in having someone easily track you, particularly if they determine you have access to information you could be threaten about. I am extremely grateful to have never gone down that path.

I did that years ago and it was somehow reactivated.
