They cannot certify. Wayne County will sign under duress and in fact was not even signed under the hand of the canvassing boards. It was stamped. Michigan law specifically states they can only certify an election or should I say votes or counties whatever way you want to say it it must be signed under the hand of the member on the board of canvassers. It was stamped. They would be violating the law if they signed it
The State Board has the authority to certify a county even if the County Board does not.
If I were a Republican on that board I would vote against certifying based solely on the intimidation and threats suffered by the GOP Wayne County commission members, even if that were the only issue. Which it’s not.
But, we’ll see.
