How things have changed. In 1986 I was with the MFO in the Sinai and had to go home on emergency leave when my step brother was killed in a car accident. I was given a blank page out of a Official (Red) US Passport and told to hold the page in place and get the blank page stamped when I left and returned to Israel. Israeli Customs were used to this with American Military in my situation. If my Official Passport had an Israeli stamp I could not re-enter Egypt.
I also heard you can get an US to Israel only passport for people who travel to Muslim countries.
