I heard a lot of schools closed that day...It was Friday and gave a long weekend...
I was in second grade and remember my mom yelling at me for being happy taht school was let out.
THe president had been shot!
I felt bad for him, but figured that I didn’t know him personally and it wouldn’t affect me personally and there was nothing I could do about it, so I pretended to be sad about it.
How little I knew at the time, how this would affect this nation to the extent it has today.
