Curing cancer (most forms) is not the same as developing a vaccine. We have a blueprint for vaccines, but only treatments for cancers, many of which are very distinct from each other. We actually can cure a few cancers, or prevent them, but they are all different and not every process is widely applicable.
Here’s an analogy, FWIW. We come out with numerous new models of surface cars every year. We don’t have many flying cars, though, and they don’t come out very often.

My guess would be that it is a deliberate biological attack and we are in a post-conventional war with China, Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, and who knows who. I’ve been pretty sure this was a bioweapon since the beginning. I was wavering between accidental and deliberate release. I’m strongly leaning toward deliberate at this point, and I think the election mess is partially the Chinese government’s doing and putting China Joe in office is their way of blocking any response. China Joe is a proven traitor and Chinese asset. He should be tried for treason. Then China needs to answer for its actions.
