Puh-Lease! I live in Florida and there already IS a virtual “mask mandate” in place. Almost every darn business you go into—certainly every national chain—has a wear your face diaper sign and people to enforce it by the doors. I’m sick of wearing the darn things!

Publix has the sign up, but they’re not nagging you now when you don’t. Some other customers will give you dirty looks though.

I just don’t abide. Aside from Target, where they have mask Nazis at the door, I just ignore the signs and have yet to be approached by anyone. If you’re a business with mask Nazis out front, I don’t patronize your store. It’s that simple. I’ve spent much more time at local markets and general goods stores than I ever have in the past. I don’t miss WalMart or Target in the least.

The Publix stores near me have their little signs, but none of the customers are wearing masks anymore. Only the Publix employees are diapering up.

Every mask mandate has exemptions for health reasons. Businesses must still make sure that those who can’t wear a mask are able to receive their goods and services. What the business can not do is demand medical information from customers. So unless Publix wants to offer carry out/curb service/delivery service or set aside a block of time for such shoppers allowing some to come in sans mask seems reasonable.
