I didn't realize how dependent the Australians were on coal for electrical generation.
I knew that one of their major trading partners was China, who wanted their coal.
When the Chinese got chastised about the covid virus by Australian authorities,
they got huffy and threatened to buy their beef and coal elsewhere.
I don't know if that has come to fruition yet,
but I now realize that coal is one of their major exports.

Which suddely reminded me of when Anklepants blocked a large planned coal mining operation in the southwestern US to placate his chinese masters...
