Someone on facebook argued that more people are employed in solar than coal. 250,000 currently. Coal mining employs 53,714. Coal produces 30% of U.S. electrical power (plus other forms of energy to spare) solar, a mere 1%. That means it takes 250,000 x 30/53,714 ~ 140 more times labor to produce a kWh with solar than with coal.
This could be the defining example of a modern luddite. By that reasoning outlaw petroleum fueled farm equipment, and we could go back to the halcyon days when 90% of U.S. labor was engaged in agriculture.
Right !
Those were the 'horse and buggey days' , as I recall.
When vendors and horse drawn wagons went up and down the street calling out their wares.
That fits in with the Democrat party slogan.
