Over 50 here - this is my first day out of quarantine. I feel great - I tested positive for COVID as well as the two people I was exposed to. This was the mildest head-cold/flu I have ever contracted.

I’m glad you made it through OK. I was reading an article (sorry I forget where) that said that some people are genetically more susceptible to feeling the effects of the virus because their bodies produce less of some protective hormone so the virus gets further into their lungs. Pretty much every cold I have ever had turns into bronchitis, same thing with my dad, so I think there may be something to that theory. Does youth and health trump poor genetics? I don’t know and I don’t want to find out the hard way.

I just don’t see why we young people are being encouraged to gather in large groups, go to concerts and movies, and generally party on like it’s 2019 in the name of “herd immunity” when President Trump assures us a vaccine is right around the corner. It doesn’t make sense unless the people who started this “herd immunity” thing are desperate businesspeople with a financial interest in getting America to spend more money, no matter what the cost to their lives and health.
