I had a friend in college (in a Christian group).
For an entire year he took on that “like a thief in the night thing”. If he woke up during the night he would jump out of bed and run to the window.
After he did it - for an entire year, he explained how he wasn’t sure if he really thought that him waking up might have been because Jesus was coming back. But it was a way for him to worship God.
I thought it was goofy as he was going through it - but his summary at the end of that year made sense. An odd “devotional” time or something.
