McConnell’s not defending Afghanistan. He’s defending the US. Because other 9/11’s will be launched again and again if we bail out of Afghanistan after a few thousand dead GI’s despite out-of-the-blue attacks on both our financial and political capitals. 9/11 was a ocean-sized loogie hawked up at our collective faces. Compared to that, Pearl Harbor was the typical nondescript border clash.

It ticks me off that Cocaine Mitch deliberately undermined Trump by not passing a stimulus package. But that’s the way it goes. McConnell has his priorities, and Trump has his. If Trump had done DACA on day one and made the wall his condition for the tax cuts, we wouldn’t be talking about a presidential transition today. Trump has stepped on his own peter numerous times.

A second term could still happen. We have a somewhat solid GOP majority in the Supreme Court. Whether they have the guts to go against the media, the plutocratic elites, out-of-control Democratic local officials ... Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
