Indeed many of the leftists ( more so than traditional liberals, but I get your meaning) are patently miserable people. They’ve adopted ideologies that deny both faith and meaning in life. They think people are mere animals to be controlled and exploited if they’re productive ( and eliminated if innocent babies or “useless eaters “ or frail or sick or with disabilities or elderly). In short, their new ideological “faiths” deny the sanctity dignity and value of human life ——- and thus themselves. No wonder they’re so miserable - they have no self-.respect and no real caring relationships are possible with others so long as these leftists look down so much on people
