Nearly six months before he allegedly knocked Rick Moranis to the ground outside the actor’s Upper West Side apartment, Marquis Ventura was charged with an even more violent, unprovoked attack on a Bronx subway.
“I could see he was crazy,” the victim in that attack, mom and restaurant manager Ashley Davis, told The Post.
“I was telling the police — This guy’s not right. This guy’s got a mental illness.”

You can walk around all fifty states and probably find a quarter-million individuals who need to be locked up in a mental holding facility. No one cares to the extent of cleaning up the mess. So you wait until he’s done enough harm, then you react....either sending him to a mental facility, or to a prison.
Guys like this are the reason that legal concealed carry should be allowed in all 50 States.
If it were, than this problem comes to an end pretty quickly.
Were all his victims White, or some other race besides Black?
One was Canadian.
It was weird how they handled Jarad Loughner. He was judged insane (he obviously is) but forced to take medicine to make him sane enough to stand trial as a regular criminal and be convicted. Then they stuck him into prison and today he lives in a prison psych ward.
Ventura is counter-claiming that they attacked him, because her husband had picked up the knife that she says Ventura dropped.
Smith is charged with misdemeanor menacing with a weapon, court records show.
Prosecutors have offered to drop charges on both sides, but, âI was like no way,â she said. âI want them to throw the book at this guy.â
