We had a Mech BN from the 4th ID behind our CCS, MACVSOG compound at Ban Me Thout East. They did not use roads. They mostly used open fields to get to local villages and enemy basecamps. After I had a company of Rhade and other yards, I was the XO then CO of our Northern Launch site at Duc CO.
The 3rd BDE CO of the 4th ID used to fly in on on his command chopper to get briefings from my SF OPS and INTEL SGT about our cross border OPS. He let us use the 4th Division Oasis to refuel our 20th SOS choppers.
