Michigan GOP state senators are requesting a full audit of the 2020 General Election.
A couple of months ago I was suspended for three days for calling old washed up Debra Messing a bitch. Yet, I see others using that word all the time!
Doodle Dog you are a troll! They do sign off on the electors and the courts can give the legislature great weight if they are requesting information from the SOS and she doesn’t give it to them. If the legislature wants an audit and they go to federal court to get it they will get it.
Or they can can withold the electors or assign them for trump. There will be court battles over it and the danger is that it gets past the safe harbor day. No electors!
Federal Constitution kicks in here...an SOS can certify all they want but if the legislature smells something fishy they can do what they want with the electors or not send any at all!

No you don’t. Study the election of 1876. Went to the house. That is why they are getting nervous in Pa and elsewhere because the legislatures are sitting up and saying hey...we have a responsibility to the electorate too...the SOS is not the dictator of elections...the Legislatures are! They are the backstop!

Let's stick with the election of 2020 shall we? Neither the legislature or the Secretary of State in Michigan select electors. Voters select them and the state canvassing board signs off on the election.
So if the legislature appoints a second slate of electors then which slate do you think the courts will recognize? The slate selected according to state law? Or the bunch the legislature chose?
The three phrases we want to hear:
full audit
recanvas
hand count
Which would then send the selection of the President to the House, where we have the advantage.
Is telling poll watchers/challengers to go home, however, individuals were still counting late into the evening?
Is preventing poll challengers from returning from bathroom breaks because of health concerns while dem challengers could come and go as they please evidence?
Is blocking Republican challengers with plywood and other materials to prevent ballots from being examined evidence?
People have sworn statements that this occurred.
There is plenty of smoke out there, in fact, any second a poll challenger was not present/prevented to verify affidavits, that right there is proof of fraud, conspiracy, and preventing equal protection rights of a legal vote from a vote where signatures do not match.
I contend you need to get in front of this before any spoiled ballot is mixed because overturning or cancel out elections is difficult to appeal and win.
Trump admin is confident but...they need more, however, there is enough present for State Legs. to call for audits, that is for sure.
The legislature per the constitution not per state laws. The SOS is a convenience but the legislature has to sign off on it. If they don’t sign off...no electors unless they send their own. Read the article...it is as succinct as when i learned about the process in HighSchool and in college. Matter of fact the article mentions michigan in great detail...apparently they used to send electors based on who won the state’s congressional districts until the Legislature went winner take all. The could choose to do so again as a “great compromise” giving the governor an elector as well if they wish. The legislatures have great latent power here.
You can bet the Dem’s would do so if they were in control of the legislature and they felt there was cheating in favor of Trump and the Rep SOS was refusing to do audited recounts at their request. They would assign their own electors in a heart-beat! They aren’t afraid of bullying with power like the pubbies are! And no court would stop them because they are within their delineated rights under the constituion.
Now the congress could refuse to accept the state’s electors if chosen that way but that is another issue. Part of the checks and balances.
The matter would go to the courts first and it's far more likely that, absent any hard evidence of vote fraud, the courts would recognize the slate chosen according to state law.
Usually, but I doubt that witness testimony will be enough since I'm sure the Democrats could come up with 'witnesses' of their own to refute Trump's witnesses. It's going to take hard physical evidence to get the courts to act, and the problem is that that evidence is in the hands of the people we're complaining about.

There is corroborating evidence/video as well as real-time incident reports, lol. Also, do these dem witnesses have sworn statements that could possibly open them up for perjury charges?
Republican challengers are taking that risk.
