People change. I never slobbered over VP Cheney (was a bit sore when he ordered the tooling of the F-14 destroyed when he was Sec of Defense), but anyone who was a big fan of the man as VP was a fan from 2000-2008. A baby born when VP Cheney went to the WH could be a full adult fighting America’s enemies overseas. Anyway, point is that people can change.

Same reason why I don’t like it when Libs criticize (for example) jokes that were made by someone in 1996!!!! Yes, making a joke with the C word may not be acceptable in many comedy clubs these days, but in 1996 it was common. But then you see a person being blackballed for something they did decades back.

Same reason by the way I am not jumping into the bandwagon criticizing Tucker Carlson for (allegedly ...few people heard it, so allegedly) calling VP Biden ‘President Elect’ Biden. Tucker often uses a lot of sarcasm, so unless I heard it I can’t judge it. But even if he said it, and even if he meant it, it doesn’t change the good he did in the past. It would only mean he changed, and while I may not listen to him going forward I will not say he was ‘this or that.’ I’d simply say he changed.

So, for VP Cheney. Maybe he’s not advising VP Biden, making the whole discussion moot. But, if he is, then maybe it means he changed. Or maybe he never changed and was always a closet Liberal. Whatever the case may be, it doesn’t affect what people thought of him between 12-20 years ago.
